For more than three decades, Germany’s drone ambient pioneers TROUM have explored the liminal zones between sound and sensation, shaping immersive sonic environments that dissolve boundaries between ritual, memory, and matter. Emerging from the industrial-ambient underground of the 1990s, TROUM have remained devoted to a singular artistic intent: to create transformative listening experiences, dense with atmosphere and charged with inner movement, where sound becomes a living presence rather than a composition.
With EmphasYs, the duo returns to a conceptual seed planted over ten years ago.
Originally conceived under the German working title Schwerpunkt, meaning focal point or center of gravity, the idea was deceptively simple yet creatively demanding. What if each piece were built around one core instrument, not as an ornament within a layered structure, but as the gravitational heart of an entire sonic universe?
The process proved far from straightforward. The material, once recorded, began to evolve in unpredictable ways. Layers multiplied. Perspectives shifted. What had been intended as a focused gesture seemed to spiral into endless circles and rotations. The music continually generated new centers of gravity, new emphases. For a long time, the project appeared impossible to finalize.
Yet through years of revisiting, reshaping, and refining, clarity emerged.
After many resubmissions and reworkings, seven tracks were ultimately selected for EmphasYs. Each piece is defined by the focused use of a single instrument: electric guitar, cello, accordion, didgeridoo, acoustic guitar, zither, and saxophone. Rather than functioning as traditional melodic voices, these instruments become sources of texture, resonance, and color. They are not simply played, they are expanded, dissolved, and transmuted.
Each instrument embodies a distinct tonal hue and emotional flavor, forming its own synesthetic dimension. The electric guitar radiates a shimmering voltage, the cello breathes in subterranean warmth, the accordion unfolds in organic waves of air, the didgeridoo anchors the spectrum with primal vibration. Acoustic guitar, zither, and saxophone each open further portals of tone and timbre, shaping spaces that feel tactile and luminous.
EmphasYs unfolds like a sequence of elemental states. The music appears as colorful fluids, shining gases, iridescent ether. Sound behaves like matter in transformation, shifting density, refracting light, dissolving form. The listener is invited not merely to hear, but to inhabit these atmospheres, to drift within slowly morphing textures where time seems suspended.
In returning to the core idea of emphasis, TROUM have distilled their aesthetic to its essence. The album does not strive for maximalism, but for concentrated depth. Each track becomes a study in resonance, an exploration of how singularity can generate infinity.
With EmphasYs, TROUM reaffirm their original artistic vision while revealing a new facet of their sonic language. It is a work born from patience, persistence, and the willingness to let sound find its own center of gravity.

A singular work of deep sonic exploration returns, now unveiled in a definitive vinyl edition.
Originally released in 2017 as the second chapter following "De Aeris In Sublunaria Influxu" (2015), the collaborative opus by Germany’s Troum and Sweden’s raison d’être now resurfaces on vinyl, expanded with two previously unreleased bonus tracks. This edition completes and deepens a project that stands among the most immersive cross-border alliances in the dark ambient sphere.
Rooted in a philosophical reflection inspired by the Amazonian Pirahã tribe, the album unfolds as an excursion into nine distinct micro-worlds of perception and consciousness. Each movement exists as a self-contained inner landscape, fragile and fleeting, reaching toward the eternal yet anchored entirely in the present moment. It is music that dissolves linear time, inviting the listener into a state where sound becomes awareness itself.
The foundation of the work draws from sound sources by raison d’être, recorded and transformed by Troum between 2013 and 2017. These materials were deranged, reframed, morphed and reimagined into new forms, layered with additional instrumentation recorded by Troum, including guitars, voices, flutes, accordion, cello, violin, didgeridoo, dombra, tapes and found sounds. The final mix was completed by Troum, preserving the organic tension between dissolution and structure.
Mastered at K-14 level by Peter Andersson, the vinyl edition offers enhanced dynamic depth and spatial presence, capturing subtle textures and low-frequency resonance with exceptional clarity. The physical format emphasizes the tactile and ritualistic dimension of the listening experience, aligning with the album’s contemplative core.
The artwork, designed by Marcin Lojek for Rzpaid design, is complemented by patternal drawings by Bartosz Zaskorski, reinforcing the album’s visual and conceptual coherence.

“Avàvâgo Zamran!” marks a new ritual transmission under the name ARROKOTH, a project initiated by Guillaume Cazalet (Neptunian Maximalism, Zaäar, Sol Kia...) as an ongoing exploration of musical primitivism, liminality, and distant cultural imaginaries. Conceived as a vessel rather than a fixed ensemble, Arrokoth brings together collaborative works with Dimitar Dimitrov (Corpus Diavolis, Antelogos, Haiku Funeral) and John McKusick (Three Dragon Alley), resulting in a body of sound that functions as both ritual artifact and performative invocation.
The compositions unfold as exotic neo-shamanic objects, situated at the crossroads of trance, incantation, and ceremonial gesture. The collaboration between John McKusick and Guillaume Cazalet, alongside Cazalet’s solo works, gives rise to syncretic pieces drawing from a wide arc of influences, from Tibetan and Indian ritual traditions to Moroccan and Indonesian sonic cultures. These works are structured as hypnotic trances, where repetition, texture, and resonance dissolve linear listening in favor of altered states.
The meeting between Dimitar Dimitrov and Guillaume Cazalet takes a more explicitly magical form. Their collaboration centers on the incantation of the 8th Enochian Key, reinterpreted through a sonic language inspired by the Bön tradition, transforming spoken formula into a charged, ceremonial act.
The project takes its name from Arrokoth, a trans-Neptunian object located in the Kuiper Belt. Visited by NASA’s New Horizons probe on January 1, 2019, Arrokoth is the most distant and most primitive object in the Solar System ever explored by a spacecraft. Its name honors the Powhatan people, indigenous to the Tidewater region of present-day Virginia and Maryland, and reflects a return to origins, both cosmic and terrestrial.
Within this framework, music is approached as a performative and operative act. Sound becomes magical discourse, a tool through which intention is shaped and projected. These recordings may accompany ritual practice, or stand as documentation of the ritual itself, traces of an action that has already taken place.

With Insha, This Morn’ Omina crosses a new threshold within its long-established ritual universe. The album marks both a return and an expansion, retracing paths once considered barren, and reopening them as gateways to origin forces and primal intention. Created in close collaboration with Konchong-Gyaltsen (Nam-Khar), Insha is rooted in convergence rather than continuity.
Untethered from the logic of trilogies or cyclical narratives, Insha turns directly toward the sources that drive creation itself. The album functions as a focused exploration of manifestation, examining not only form and sound, but the energetic mechanics that allow ritual, intention, and matter to emerge.
Musically, Insha bridges eras of the project’s evolution. The organic, ceremonial vitality that defined the early works of This Morn’ Omina is interwoven with the structured, rhythmic pulse developed in later releases. The result is a dense, immersive work where ritual percussion, incantatory textures, and industrial discipline coexist in a unified ceremonial flow.
Insha stands as a significant statement within the contemporary ritual sound landscape. It is not a retrospective, nor a rupture, but an act of re-alignment, reconnecting essence and motion, origin and execution.

Birds Drink My Blood is the second full-length album from Born Erased, the latest solo venture of Bulgarian musician Angel Simitchiev. Conceived as a meditation on nature’s brutal beauty, the album channels the relentless flow of the natural world, its internal hierarchies, and the unseen forces that shape it. Electronic instrumentation forms the foundation of the record, marking this as the closest Born Erased has come to the final works released under Simitchiev’s now-retired Mytrip alias.
Where I Am The End Of The World (BLWBCK, 2023) relied on the tension between acoustic drums, distorted guitars and ambient electronics, Birds Drink My Blood turns inward, placing its focus firmly on electronic expression. Across six pieces, the music moves between stillness and intensity, occupying a space where fragile motifs and submerged power coexist.
Born Erased once again opens the door to collaboration. French electronic artist Mondkopf contributes his intricate synth work to the track “Unmade,” while Denmark’s Vanity Productions brings his signature melancholy-drenched feedback and noise experiments to the abrasive “Dead Sun Emblem.” These collaborative tracks enhance the album’s contrasts, highlighting moments of interplay between guest interventions and Born Erased’s core sound.

A Collaboration Between Franck Vigroux & Loïc Varanguien de Villepin
Aesthetical presents NACHT, a new collaborative project uniting Franck Vigroux, the renowned French composer, producer and sound artist, with Loïc Varanguien de Villepin, poet and vocalist known for his intense spoken-word performances and existential lyricism.
Emerging as a logical progression of Vigroux’s sonic language, NACHT expands upon the stark electronic minimalism and visceral textural depth familiar from his earlier releases on Aesthetical. Yet where Vigroux’s previous works often inhabited the realm of pure sound and abstraction, NACHT introduces a distinctly human and tragic dimension through Varanguien’s vocal laments, fractured monologues, whispers and declamations that move between invocation and despair.
This union gives rise to a sound that is both ritualistic and cinematic, merging the weight of Vigroux’s electronic architecture with the vulnerable gravity of the human voice. The result is an immersive sonic world where industrial drones, distorted harmonics and decaying pulses serve as vessels for poetic catharsis, a nocturnal descent into memory, loss, and transformation.
“NACHT is the sound of language dissolving into resonance, the echo of meaning after words have disappeared,” says Vigroux.
Recorded between 2023 and 2025 in France, the album unfolds as a sequence of sonic tableaux, at once intimate and monumental. Oastar marks the long-awaited third manifestation of O Saala Sakraal, the ceremonial vessel guided by nOh v°v (of Trepaneringsritualen and Norn) and Sunnifa St. Álander (of Hadewych).
Recorded in the aftermath of the discovery and subsequent destruction of an ancient solar temple by local authorities in the eastern region of Hamaland, a land still shadowed by the enduring influence of the Church, this new work channels both lament and invocation.
Amidst these events, O Saala Sakraal deepen their exploration of the sacred and the profane, weaving six aural ceremonies designed to open liminal sonic spaces where the residual wounds of Christian dominion may begin to heal.
Steeped in woodland mysticism, Oastar unfolds as a cycle of rituals, to facilitate flow states, purify and transform, and call forth coalescence from fragmentation. Beneath its layers, a burning resonance persists: a yearning for restoration, for a return to the primordial harmony that once bound all things.

Freya Aswynn began corresponding with me even before she was known to the world by that name. Throughout the 1970s there were embryonic developments in the rebirth of the runes in the English-speaking realms. These organisms were of two kinds: the traditional and the wildly speculative. It can be said that the traditional approach can over-do the rules and regulations of things, while the speculative can sink into meaningless idiosyncratism. But on the other hand the traditions do provide objective anchors in a world of rudderless journeys, while speculations can liberate the essential component of intuition. Intuition based on tradition shows the surest path. Indeed, Freya represents an intuitive approach to the runes in some regards, but it must also be said that she possesses the inborn wisdom to make use of the actual traditions — the lore — which was ages ago laid down by our ancestors and predecessors in the tradition.
In the realm of the esoteric and magic(k), individuals who have been gifted (or cursed) with intense vision often find themselves in what appears to the competition with others, which inevitably leads to some sort of conflict. In the course of this book the reader will find references to this sort of thing between myself and Freya. It should be noted, as she points out that I did my best to help others to make their way in the world of writing and publishing. I am a firm believer in that old saying that “a rising tide floats all boats.” When seekers’ hearts are resolutely dedicated to higher principles they always — should they be gifted with long enough lives — find happy resolutions to these apparent conflicts. Abraxas Publishing is proud to announce the release of its first full English language publication, the facsimile edition of Aleister Crowley’s “Tannhäuser – A Story of All Time”.
Crowley finished "Tannhäuser" in Kandy, Ceylon in the beginning of 1900s during a period when he and his mentor Allan Bennet were in middle of intense yogic practices. The book is Crowley’s take on the 13th century legend of Minnesinger Tannhäuser. In Crowley’s dramatic version, which he referred as “The History of the Soul”, the traveling Rosicrucian poet journeys in the world of gods, men and demons in search of truth and harmony. Through Tannhäuser's reflections the book explores complex themes, such as the clash between earthly passions and spiritual aspirations, foreshadowing the conflicts and transformations Tannhäuser experiences throughout the story. The drama reflects Crowley's fascination with mysticism and the interplay of earthly desire and divine inspiration. Tho overlooked at its time, Crowley’s Tannhäuser play grew later into a seminal text in Thelema and in O.T.O.
Crowley’s gives the keys for deciphering the text in his preface written in Kandy in 1901 where he connects the drama’s scheme with John Bunyan’s “The Pilgrim's Progress” (1678). Crowley advices the reader to observe Tannhäuser as the only “real” character of the play and other characters just merely reflections of the traveling poet’s own consciousness.
The publications is a facsimile reprint of the second edition published through Crowley’s own publishing house Society for the Propagation of Religious Truth aka S.P.R.T. in 1907. In the “new” edition Crowley used mainly unbound pages left over from the original 1902 Kegan Paul, Trench, Trübner & Co.’s publication. Crowley’s disappointment with Kegan Paul's management of his book sales spurred him to distribute his own works via S.P.R.T.

She is known as the black underworldly crone and giantess of the black anti-cosmic runes and magic, who comes at midnight up from under the ground and walks between houses to visit the practitioners of the black arts (or fjölkunnigr, as they were called), to teach them about the black runes and anti-cosmic magic. She is known as first wife, or mistress of Loki. Her names are many, amongst which the most well-known ones are Gullveig, Heiðr, Aurboða, Angrboða and Hyrrokin. She was looked upon as an evil woman, "illr kona", and the mother of all trolls, "flagð", troll being the Old Norse term for malignant and bestial demons, viewed upon as a thurs-kin, which are often dwellers of the forests, mountains and the underworld.
The book explores Gullveig through Old Norse mythology, sagas, Witchcraft & Poetry, which also includes descriptions of related giants and underworldly locations connected to her, such as: Loki, Jørmungandr, Fenrir, Hel; Jøtunheimr, Helheimr, Niflheimr, and much more.
